Last week me and my wife and two other couples chartered the EMYSA for a week-long trip in the BVIs. The captain was Caleb Haydock and the chef was Adhika Malhotra. Over the pat 25 yeas, my wife and I have enjoyed sailing in the BVIs. Without a doubt, we have never had a crew we enjoyed sailing with or were taken as Care of as well as this trip with y’all. I have never eater as well either. Sailing with four rids under 12 always adds a little spice butY’all were incredible with then and so caring to adjust the meals to cater to the littles. I haven’t ever seen my kids eat as much as they did this week. Caleb thank you for adjusting our plan dail.

Where do I even begin to describe this trip? For the short version, it was absolutely the trip of a lifetime in every way. For the long version, I am honestly not sure it could have been any better! I want to start off by saying that Justin & I are beyond grateful for your assistance in setting up this experience for us all. Apart from a 9-hour delay in finally getting to Nassau after bad weather in Texas heavily disrupted our flights on Thursday, we had the smoothest, most efficient advent.

Dear Adhika & Caleb, Thank you for such a wonderful week on Harmony. We are a challenging group to please, given our culinary and dietary demands, our previous boating experiences, and our familiarity with the Bahamas, but you absolutely exceeded our expectations. Caleb and Adi were amazing!!! We really enjoyed the charter and the amazing and welcoming experience that the crew planned. Adi's food and table presence was next level- she made sure everyone was taken care of with any dietary restrictions they could have. 10/10. Our family just had the trip of a lifetime!! Caleb and Adhika thought of everything and more!! They truly catered every part of the experience to us. Where to begin... This was the most amazing trip we have EVER had! The boat was beyond comfortable and stocked with anything and everything we could have wanted or needed. Bastian and Sarai were above and beyond in every way. They were new to these islands but did their homework to show us all the precious places to see and experience. Then there is the food & dining experience on EMYSA.. No words... We dined like royalty. Each meal was well thought out, planned, and delicious! We had lots .

5 out of 5 all around. We had so much fun in the water with the toys aboard the boat. Bastian was the perfect captain providing us with the best locations for snorkeling. This vacation exceeded ALL of my expectations. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left – everything was absolutely exceptional! We were greeted, after a long day of travel, with the most beautiful, candle lit dinner on the back of the boat which was the envy of other guests at the marina. The boat is truly luxurious, a giant, light filled salon with sweeping views of the crystal blue water everywhere you look. So much space you will never feel crowded. The dining table on the back.

EMYSA is fantastically equipped, we saw no reason for shore visits. Bastian and Sarai are top notch sailors and the cocktails and meals were over the top. We could not have asked for anything more. Each day was better than the day before with snorkeling, kayaking in the glass kayak, and playing on the scooters. We only used half the available toys. The crew made this a trip of a lifetime. Sailing was more than pastime — it was foundation. He raced sailboats in international regattas, building not just technical skill but a deep respect for the sea and wind. Pursuing that passion took him around the globe. He taught sailing to support his university, then explored sunny coasts: Costa Rica’s Pacific shores, the turquoise mediums of the Bahamas, and the historic ports of the Mediterranean. Along the way, he completed intensive PADI dive training in Honduras (Bay Islands), bringing under-water exploration to his repertoire.
Caleb holds multiple certifications including Yachtmaster 200 GT (Commercial Endorsement – Sail), STCW, ENG1, RYA Sea-Safety / PPR, ROC (GMDSS) VHF License, Maritime Basic Firefighting, and Commercial Assistance Towing. He is also PADI Search & Rescue Certified. Every qualification reflects not just earning badges, but a commitment: to safety, to immersive experiences, to sharing his knowledge with guests.

Chef Chanel – S/V EMYSA
Born in South Africa and raised in a Thai household, Chef Chanel grew up immersed in two vibrant cultures that shaped both her palate and her passion for hospitality. Splitting her childhood between South Africa and Thailand, she developed a love for travel and a deep appreciation for the way food connects people across cultures.
Her culinary journey began in her mother’s guesthouse kitchen, where she learned the art of Thai cooking during school holidays. That early spark grew into a lifelong passion for food and hospitality. Soon after graduating Chanel followed in the footsteps of her older brother into the yachting world, completing Yacht Stewardess Academy in Cape Town, which included Barista, Mixology and Level 1 Wine Certifications.
Chanel has spent multiple seasons in the Caribbean working aboard popular charter yachts such as The Annex (10 guests) and Gullwing (8 guests). Known for attention to details, her elegant tablescapes, handcrafted cocktails, and warm guest service, Chanel quickly became a favorite among charter guests. Working alongside some of the top charter chefs in the region gave Chanel the confidence to transition from stewardess to chef.
Chanel completed professional chef school in Cape Town. There, she combined her natural flair for flavor with formal training by blending her Thai-South African heritage, resulting in vibrant, flavorful menus that celebrate fresh ingredients and bold creativity.
